Description Spicebush cats (caterpillars) are among the coolest of butterfly larvae. At first they look like bird poop but later molt to a green color and finally they turn orange-yellow just before they are about to form the chrysalis. We planted a spicebush to attract them. We raised several of them from eggs and then released the adults in our yard. They also like sassafrass.
Valerie Evanson Member Since December 2008 Artist Statement Welcome to my Imagekind store! This store features the largest selection available for prints of my paintings, drawings, sculptures and photos.
My fine art explores various mediums through abstraction and realism. Cats, horses, monarch butterflies and old buildings being reclaimed by nature are common subjects. Currently, we share our house with 3 Maine Coon cats. During the summer we raise monarchs and other butterflies as a family project. You can follow our monarch journey through Facebook as well as find educational info on raising monarchs and milkweed.
